Compress PNG images online

Reduce PNG file size for logos, screenshots, icons, UI assets, and transparent product images without uploading files to a server.

Reduce image size

Choose a quality level from 10 to 100 and create a smaller image while keeping reasonable visual quality.

Private by design

Compression uses FileReader, Canvas, and Blob APIs in your browser. The image never leaves your device.

Before and after preview

Review the original and compressed images side by side before downloading the final file.

JPG, PNG, and WebP

Compress JPG, compress PNG, and compress WebP files with a simple browser-based workflow.

Choose the right compression for your image

Different image types need different formats. Use these practical defaults for smaller files without unnecessary quality loss.

Photos and email attachments

JPG at 70–85% quality is a strong starting point for photos, product images, and email attachments. Lower the quality gradually while checking fine details.

Logos and transparent graphics

PNG preserves transparency and sharp edges. If the result remains large, WebP often provides a smaller file while retaining transparency.

Images for faster websites

WebP usually creates smaller web images than JPG or PNG. Smaller assets can improve loading speed, mobile experience, and Core Web Vitals.

Private or confidential images

Because processing stays on your device, the tool is suitable for screenshots, documents, and design assets you do not want uploaded to a third party.

FAQ

Can I compress image online without uploading it?

Yes. The image is processed locally in your browser and is not sent to a server.

What formats does the image compressor support?

The tool supports JPG, PNG, and WebP files where the browser supports those formats.

Why can PNG compression sometimes look larger?

Canvas exports PNG losslessly, so some PNG files may not shrink as much as JPG or WebP files.

Does compressing an image reduce quality?

Lossy JPG and WebP compression can remove some detail, but settings around 70–85% often look very close to the original. PNG output is lossless, although it may not produce the smallest file.

Is there a file-size limit?

You can process one JPG, PNG, or WebP image up to 25 MB at a time. There is no account or daily usage limit.

Will metadata such as GPS information remain?

No. The browser redraws the image to a new canvas, so EXIF metadata such as camera and GPS information is not copied to the compressed result.
